EGBERT | Egbert Van Der Gugten is currently one of the most promising talents within the field of electronic dance music. Jeroen Verheij alias Secret Cinema, whose attention was drawn to Egbert via myspace.com, invited him on the spur of the moment to his parties and his studio last year, and thus smoothed the way for Egbert to the Dutch Techno scene. After his debut on Lo-Fi Stereo, it was mainly his "Vlammen-EP" on Michel de Hey's EC Records in February 2009, which went down a bomb on the dancefloors and belonged to the basic vinyl inventory of Sven Väth's record case in this season. With "Vreugdevuur", Egbert still tops this and provides Cocoon Recordings with a musical exclamation mark that sets standards in harmonic but consequently demanding TechHouse somewhere in between Dub, Progressive House and Detroit. With many high profile releases coming up in 2010, Egbert will be a name to remember! ALEX D´ELIA | Italy’s and one of europe’s most followed and loved collaboration was born in late 2008, when renowned trance and techno ace Alex D’elia met one of italy’s finest turntablist and most promising young producer Nihil Young. They soon find themselves good comfort in studio, producing their first EPs for labels such as Blu Fin, John Acquaviva’s Definitive Recordings and several other important techno labels. In a few months they put their effort visualizing and creating what is today the biggest contribution to italian independent underground music and one of europe’s best labels among the newest: Frequenza Records and it’s sublabel Frequenza Limited. Alex and Nihil succeed, creating a complete, strong techno brand, producing vinyl releases and flooding the digital business with tons of amazing quality releases, from themselves, friends like Maetrik (Cocoon), Dandi & Ugo, Piatto, Andrea Roma, Roy Rosenfeld, Da Fresh,A-N-N-A and several bigger collaborations with artists such as Lutzenkirchen, Ramon Tapia, Brian Sanhaji (CLR), Piemont, Gary Beck, Dustin Zahn Ascion, D. Carbone, Ahmet Sendil, Electric Rescue, Alex Bau and much more, whilst hosting on Frequenza Limited (Tech-House flavored sublabel) names such as Dani Casarano, M.in, Kolombo, David Keno, UGLH, Federico Locchi, Felipe Venegas, Thomas Schumacher. While the labels are getting bigger and supported by more big artists (getting continuous charting actions and plays from Umek, Acquaviva, Popof, Spektre, Slam, Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Sebastien Leger...), Alex D’elia & Nihil Young keep on producing hot tools and tunes for djs on labels such as Great Stuff’s Craft Music, Umek’s 1605, Fergie’s Rekluse and John Acquaviva’s classic imprint Definitive Recordings. They produce an ep together with John Acquaviva entitled “Salamandra” in 2009 and later, in 2010, “Global Cooling”, while new collaborations with the pioneer Acquaviva are coming soon in 2011. They also release a couple of minimal hit remixes for hot scottish label Sleaze Records, remixing Anderson Noise and Matador (Cocoon). But the best from the guys comes on their imprint itself, Frequenza, with classic newschool techno tunes such as Alex’s Didascalia (top 10 techno on beatport, overall chart on beatport, several top 10 vinyl charts, plays from Umek, Claude VonStroke, Acquaviva) , Nihil’s Bye Bye My Brain which is now a minimal classic tune (1st on Minimal beatport’s chart, several vinyl top 10s), their official remake of the classic house tune Problem #13 with Jonny Dangerous (Beat That Bitch) from King Street, Booty Call, Doomed and much more top tunes. More big releases are coming on hot labels such as 1605 Music Therapy and Spektre’s Respekt (starting with a remix for Spektre themselves in january 2011). In 2009/2010 they run their Frequenza Radioshow on Ibiza Global Radio (although they have to quit the show for major studio and touring business). They also appear several times on italy’s biggest radio network m2o. In September 2010 Alex & Nihil, along with their agent Andrea Gritti, start NGDM Booking (Well known italian agency which brought for the first time in italy artists such as Bodzin, Villalobos, Galluzzi, Schneider, Deadmau5). In November 2010 Alex & Nihil start another label called Ready 2 Rock, launching it with their beautiful Derailed and an awesome Various Artists including their classic minimal tune Vacuum (top 10 on beatport) and several classic tracks from artists such as Umek, Popof, Sebastien Leger, Laurent Garnier, Dustin Zahn, Maetrik and many more. More Big tunes are coming in 2011 on Frequenza, Rusted Records, Respekt Recordings, 1605, and other big projects along with John Acquaviva! NIHIL YOUNG | Nihil Young (’87) is one of the most prolific and brilliant sound creators from the italian new school. Mainly techno and tech house oriented, but fascinated by melodies from the classics and the trance and progressive movement, in addition to the grooves and basslines of quality classic funk and electronic hip hop from the 70s and the 80s. His tracks and productions are being played by artists such as Len Faki, Pan-Pot, Format:B, Monika Kruse, Umek, Carl Cox, Dubfire, John Acquaviva, Paco Osuna, Sebastien Leger, Fergie, Richie Hawtin, Tiesto, Mark Knight, Fatboy Slim and many others. He's the co-creator of well known and growing brands Frequenza Records, Ready 2 Rock and Frequenza Limited. So far, Nihil Young is releasing on labels such as Umek's 1605, John Acquaviva's Definitive Recordings. Fergie's Rekluse, King Street, Spektre's Respekt Recordings, Rusted Records, Craft Music by Great Stuff, Parquet, 3rd Wave, 8 Sided Dice, and of course his Frequenza labels. |
