>
> DJ Tvyks belongs to the most original Czech DJs. Thanks to his unique
> style, he's always able to hit the proper atmosphere and entertain the
> crowd. He lays all kinds of house music (deep, disco, electro, funky,
> groovy, latino & tech house) which gives his sets a great portion of
> energy. During the 11 years behind decks he's performed in some of the
> most prestigious Europe's clubs such as The Social (London, UK), D!
> Club (Lausanne, CH) or L'An-Fer (Dijon, F). His colaboration with
> swedish producer Hakan Lidbo resulted in a 12 inch released by the
> world's famous Paperecordings under name Norr/VÃœchod. If you're
> seeking for a special party experience, Tvyks is your man.
>
> Has been intersted in music since his childhood. Already when
> attending grammar school, as if he felt, that any other job would't
> make sense to him. On turn of 80's and 90's he used to tune for radio
> Luxembourg and local E+M with Saturday's dance shows. In summer 1992
> Tvyks dropped in brand new club Ubiquity, to one of house parties and
> immediately knew, this was the music he would like to play. He started
> to purchase records, in the beginning of 1993 he first started mixing
> and had a first gig in the spring.
>
> Through playing in smaller places and events in Prague he got to the
> two most popular Czech clubs – Radost FX and Roxy. In the second half
> of 90's he starts to travel around the country. In 1996 – 1997 he
> takes part in two TV shows Puls and Paskvil. At this working load he
> realises, that he's mainly attracted to decks, where he returns. Later
> he prepares compilation House Party 6, which becomes one of the best
> selling in the series.
>
> In 1998 he partly addresses himself to web design, than his first
> abroad appearances come – in Germany – in Berlin and Rostock. Later in
> 1999 he comes to newly formed Eastbase booking, alongside most top
> local DJs. It is also time of first production – he colaborates with a
> band called Nana Zorin on their first single 17:14 EP.
>
> In autumn 1999 he starts a radio show about French scene called French
> Connection on Prague's Radio 1 and a few other stations. He becomes a
> resident in new club Paradogs, with night Zona Disco. Later he also
> starts French Connection parties. In January 2000 he plays in Dijons
> club L'An-Fer - France, and starts French Connection web site. Later
> this year he started to cooperate with singer Dara Rollins, they
> formed one of the most succesfull club nights called Suiit. In summer
> he mixed Tripmags Dance Online Plus compilation.
>
> In winter 2001 Tvyks plays in Lausannes D! Club and in La Cantina in
> Chamonix alongside French Pat Heart. In spring he meets talented
> musician Boris Carloff, and together they produce a couple of tracks,
> Kedluben Funk appeared on DJ Touch compilation and Feeling Free was
> produced for Dara's new album. In autumn Tvyks plays in Norway, but
> before that, he drops in Hakan Lidbo's studio in Stockholm, and
> together they produce single called Norr/VÃœchod, which is later
> released on Paperecordings.
>
> In autumn 2002 he takes care of east european look of Paperecording's
> cult club nigt called Robodisco. Within the few months, Prague's
> Robodisco saw Hakan Lidbo, Ben Davis, Elliot Eastwick, Kenny Hawkes
> and Pat Heart.
> Tvyks starts to appear alongside Pat Heart more and more, and they
> start to work on their joint studio project called AfroGinger. First
> work is released on Scottish dis-Tracktion records.
>

> Wilsonic Festival 2006
> After four successful years in existence, Wilsonic festival –
> Bratislava's annual celebration of cutting-edge, adventurous and
> forward-thinking music in the heart of East and Central Europe - is
> rapidly approaching it's fifth anniversary and the fifth edition of
> Wilsonic Festival 2006.
>
> Wilsonic – a club, a party and a concert in one
> Wilsonic Festival, established in the year 2000, takes place annually
> in Bratislava, the capitol of Slovakia. Wilsonic is a spectacular
> celebration of today's best modern music presented in a live context,
> connecting the best elements of music fused within the atmosphere of a
> concert, a club and a party. The primary focus is on local Central and
> Eastern European artists, musicians and DJ's sharing the stage with
> their critically acclaimed, international counterparts. Wilsonic has
> untill now presented internationaly established artists such as Daddy
> G, GusGus, DJ Vadim's One Self, Ricardo Villalobos, Akufen, Louie
> Austen, Rainer Trüby, Fauna Flash, Funkstörung, Hood, Max Tundra,
> Safety Scissors, Lali Puna, Donna Regina, Jan Jelinek, Luciano, Keith
> Tenniswood, Mira Calix, Diesler and many others.
>
> Wilsonic – a soundtrack to modern urban Bratislava
> Bratislava, described in it's tourism campaign as a „little big city",
> is in reality, a small and cozy town. Located on the Danube river,
> it's tight city centre with it's never-ending plethora of cafes, bars,
> restaurants and clubs is reminiscent of a mediterannean atmosphere.
> You won't even notice that the only thing missing is the sea. Above
> the old town, the capitol city's castle, is both a focal point and
> compass for potentially lost tourists. The view from the castle also
> offers a unique view of one of the biggest former communist style
> suburbs in Eastern Europe – Petržalka. Apart from the architecture of
> the old town and that of the communist era, modern buildings are
> popping up all over like mushrooms after the rain. There's a New York
> rush in the city these days as the village transforms into an
> international capitol. Even entirely new districts, right beside the
> city center are currently being built.
> The atmosphere, the environment, the vibe of Bratislava screams of
> being THE place to be nowadays, and Wilsonic Festival works as a
> cutting edge urban soundtrack for Bratislava's change of pace.
>
> Wilsonic Festival 2006 – another successful east-west meeting
> This years' festival is scheduled for the second weekend of June,
> 9-10. For those among you who are coming to Europe from Montreal's
> Mutek Festival, Wilsonic follows one week later. And to those planning
> to attend Sonar festival in Barcelona, Wilsonic is one week ahead.
> Among already announced headliners you can find few stalwarts of the
> global electronic music scene, such as Matthew Herbert & Dani
> Siciliano or drum & bass aficionados LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad.
> International stars and plenty of up & coming talent from the Central
> and Eastern European region, makes the trip to Bratislava's Wilsonic
> unmissable.
> So book tickets now! If help is needed regarding travel or
> accomodation, here's a small hint – www.bratislava.sk/en. Advance
> tickets for rediculously low prices can be purchased through
> Ticketportal outlets and online via www.ticketportal.sk.
>
> Wilsonic festival, with five years already under it's belt, has a
> strong local audience and continues to develop it's international
> profile. Wilsonic 2006 will be yet another successful fusion of East
> and West.
