Petre Inspirescu
In his adoptive town, Bucharest, Pedro aka Petre Inspirescu has long been a pivotal figure alongside his frequent accomplices Rhadoo and Raresh. He started djing in 1999, in the long regretted Web Club. Four years ago he became resident at Circoloco, Dc10 Ibiza and since then, his way of feeling and understanding electronic music changed completely. In the last three years, his appearances throughout the whole world have brought his name to many listeners' lips, heightening interest in the fertile Romanian scene, an unexpected outpost of advanced electronic music. From the very beginning Pedro has been strongly affected by deep house tunes and the multitude variety of grooves - not only in electronic music. His DJ sets are as sonically baffling as they are irresistibly groovy; as a producer, his tracks are as unhinged as they are methodical. He equally owns the label [a:rpia:r], with Rhadoo and Raresh , other details being completely useless. If you listened to him at least once, you know what we're talking about! |

Argenis Brito
Born in Venezuela, Argenis Brito is one of South America’s most diverse and experienced musicians and anything but your average live set. His long history in the music business has culminated in him becoming an international touring artist of solid underground repute in the last 10 years, taking him to every major clubbing destination across the globe, as well as cementing his position as an in-demand producer, proven by a multitude of releases on labels like Crosstown Rebels, Cadenza, Dame Music, Mobilee, Tuning Spork and Contexterrior amongst many others. A true musician, setting him aside from the crowd, Argenis continues to flourish as a curator and entertainer of boundary pushing electronic sounds. A resident in Berlin since 2002, after stints in New York and Santiago de Chile during the 90s, he has proven to be a core part of the ever growing scene there, finding time to play at all the major clubs in between his international tours to South America, the United States, Japan or closer to home across Europe. Thanks to the development of his live act, with performance typified by often unreleased music unique to each gig, and crossing a spectrum of influence from latin music to dub, house and techno, he has been able to ensure that his performance avoids the traps of a monotonous or repetitive sound. The breakthrough moment in Argenis’ transition from past musical experiences into his current love with electronic experimentalism came in 2006 with his double EP ‘Micro Mundo’ on Cadenza; elevating him to many high profile gigs across the world, including several Circoloco events. Since then, following extensive studio work as producer, vocalist, collaborator, remixer or a combination of everything on the most highly sought imprints around, including most recently in 2011, Crosstown Rebels and Dame Music. 2012 sees him on the cusp of the most productive period of his career, with a new Mambotur album set for release together with Pier Bucci in spring, a new Los Refrescos album scheduled with Dandy Jack, a further solo album and countless collaborations, such as with Dinky, Mike Shannon, David Delgado and also Ricardo Villalobos with whom he has been making some really interesting sounds such as the Peculiar track released earlier in 2011 on Sei Es Drum. This is all preceded with a fresh South American tour at the start of 2012, taking Argenis back to his homeland and the source of his inspiration for his particular sound. Argenis was instrumental in his work with Señor Coconut, Tobias Freund and Jorge Gonzalez, where he pioneered the use of Latin American sounds and rhythms in the context of contemporary dance music. The significance of this came from the early 2000s when eventually Argenis, Pier Bucci, and also Luciano, perfected this style before making it the defining sound of underground by the end of the decade. |

Rainer
(Half Baked Records, Desolat, Serialism, Vinyl Club Recordings) A native of Barcelona, Rainer has been spinning records since 2000 having fallen under the influence of the techno and house movements of that time, this early sounds would be catalyst to his entry into the world of production. Since then he has continued a steady rise by moving to London, where his first release on Serialism "Neuralgia" saw him secure a solid position within the electronic scene with praise from the likes of Seth Troxler, Cesare vs Disorder, Kate Simko and Ryan Crosson. His DJ'ing schedule also picked up and followed gigs at such luminary clubs as Fabric (London), Watergate (Berlin) and Weekend (Berlin) as well as starting a new residency at London's Half Baked parties. Further releases on labels Vinyl Club, Remake Music, Serealism and Desolat, with Rainer's tracks becoming Loco Dice's secret weapons of summer 2011, testement to his continued climb within electronic music's ranks. |

DeWalta
With a background like DeWalta’s, the stage was set long ago for this yougin to blast some serious holes in the fabric of music, time, and space. DeWalta a.k.a. David Koch budded from a large family in southern Germany filled with theater, literature, and music. Early schooling came in the form of the interdisciplinary Waldorf School (also home to electronic pioneers Abe Duque and John Selway) tasked with nothing less than helping young people fulfill their unique destinies. With the school’s emphasis on artistic and imaginative endeavors in elementary education, David started with French horn at age 7 leading to his first orchestral and ensemble performances. Meanwhile David’s grandfather was a music journalist who first exposed him to early American jazz on old lacquer records and later the music of the beatnik movement of the 1950’s. At age 10 David started to teach himself jazz. By 13 he engaged in known local jazz clubs playing on sessions which lead to his first musical scholarship where he met his first inspiring instructors. Parallel to his jazz studies David picked up on good ol’ American P-Funk, hip hop, and some pop\rock. Additionally David started to tour globally with classical symphonic orchestras, and in the off season started to earn money performing in young jazz ensembles. In 1999 David moved to Berlin to attend an elite music conservatory and continued to play jazz taking part in Berlin’s young jazz scene. Just 2 years later he left the high school conservatory to attend the Hans Eissler Music College for jazz and pop where he studied saxophone, piano, composition, and music theory. Of course here he also found many suitable ensembles to play with ranging in style from big band and free jazz, to funk and Latin music. By 2003, as was common for many gifted musicians, David started the doubt the necessity of musical education. Though trained as an instrumentalist for most of his life, he felt limited by traditional performance with control of just one element of a piece. The emphasis of improvisation in jazz led him to experimentation, composition, and giving into the natural genesis of producing his own music. He started to acquire studio equipment, experimented with different sounds, founded a disco band, and made his first forays into producing electronic music events. Berlin was also a vinyl paradise which David did not overlook quickly amassing a collection delving deeper into electronic music. His eclectic endeavors continued to dominate composing theatrical music, expanding his studio, studying jazz at the music college, and partaking in the bohemian urban paradise that was and still is Berlin. David continued to expand his studio, improved his production skills, and advanced his productions. By 2007 he founded his Meander label and began releasing his first electronic records. Just a year later long time friend and Vakant big daddy snapped up David leading to the drop of the ‘Salgaro/Farina’ EP (VA021) on the world’s dance floors. With a bass presence not easily described in words and the musical expanse that floats on top of his debut Vakant release, DeWalta became instantly known to all those seeking massive funk with their freak. With so much music already under his belt and the platform that is Vakant, we envision a mad scramble of the world’s sound technicians to technically accommodate such a talent in the time to come. |
