Paul Loraine
It's always refreshing when a DJ / Artist offers something a little different and with nigh-on two decades of experience behind him, Paul Loraine has made many music aficionados sit up and take note. Paul's trademark sets do nothing less than captivate his audience. Currently pushing a sound which takes in everything from blissed-out, after-hours joy to more muscular, floor-friendly justice, his combination of charisma and technical proficiency behind the decks has labelled him "One of the best no nonsense British DJ's on the Scene." (NME) A true reflection of a Clubber's DJ Paul offers a journey through the more sinister side of House Music. It’s a sound which tells a story of where Paul’s been, and more importantly, where he’s going. Loraine's dedication to cutting edge techniques and experimental sounds has taken him across the full spectrum of dance music. His immersion into the house music scene in 1993 has seen him make his marque as a promoter, producer and DJ. His successful club night LOCO became notorious for it's infectious mix of house music influenced by tech house, techno & tough tribal beats. Booking the likes of Carl Craig, Slam and Radio Slave but to name a few has seen him gain praise from BBC radio one, DJ magazine and Mixmag. With just two years production experience under his belt, Paul has already become a firm favourite in the playlists of industry heavyweights with props from across the board of the electronic music press. From the onset, Paul's productions were picked up by the likes of Fabric regular Danton Eeprom for his impressive Fondation Records imprint and 2009 has seen Paul experience success within Beatport, WhatPeoplePlay and Juno's sales charts with his original and remix productions. The fact that three of the world's leading electronic music labels; Four:Twenty recordings, Germany's Lebensfreude and Tim Sheridan’s VeryVeryWrongIndeed have come calling for his work, should tell you a thing a two about the esteem in which he's held. 2010 promises to follow suit with EPs and singles due for release throughout the year plus remix commissions for the likes of Silicone Soul (Soma), Riff Raff (Electric Sheep) and Dom Kane (Xeton Records). Watch this space, Paul Loraine is set to fill it. http://www.nightlaw.net/paul-loraine/
