First Release of the Upper Austrian Label “elmart“

Starting from November, the Upper Austrian label “elmart” and DJ/producer Mike Absolom are turning dance floors into sizzling pots. 


Out of the ordinary Underground- and Techno sound can now be expected of the vinyl and MP3 label “elmart“ and its Austrian artists. The label elmart, established in 2006, is kicking off with the first single of the Upper Austrian DJ and producer Mike Absolom, available in records shops (online at www.deejay.de) and on MP3 platforms. This single is supported by the remixers Mike Turrento, Errol Dix and Chris Ecker, who cover every electronic genre from Minimal to Hard-Techno with their productions. 

Born in Wels, Michael Kiener is co-founder and producer of the label “elmart”. Also known as Mike Absolom, he pursued a rather unusual path and did not find his way to the electronic music until the late age of 17. Unable to abdicate it again his productions now stand out due to his creativity. His latest classic techno production “From Absolom to Heaven” is his and at the same time “elmart”’s debut single. This vinyl single also includes remixes from the three Upper Austrian artists Mike Turrento, Errol Dix and Chris Ecker. Mike Turrento’s remix convinces with uncompromising basses and embodies a contrast to the original and the other remixes which are characterized by softer beats and minimalist elements. Mike Absolom tours through the hottest clubs weekly and plays at radio stations like DI.FM or FM4. 

Even though electronic music is not unknown in Austria, only a few Austrian dare taking a step into the music business. The four young Upper Austrians Christoph Elmer, Joachim Klein, Michael Kiener and Michael Walgram, breaking into the international market, established the vinyl and MP3 label “elmart”. 
Label owner and manager Christoph Elmer already founded the umbrella brand “elmart – electronic music art”, from which “elmart” emanated, in 2005. Elmart stands for techno and electronic music of the slightly tougher kind. The Upper Austrian launched “elmart” and the sub-label “HouseArt” with the vision of creating a platform for regional and foremost Austrian artist and offering newcomers the opportunity to live their music.
