Die Liquid-Mix-Familie wird nach unten hin abgerundet. Focusrite stellt das neue Liquid-Mix-16 vor.

Das Liquid-Mix-16 bietet dem Anwender 16 Kompressoren und 16 EQ Plugins für die DAW. Ausgewählt kann dabei aus 40 Kompressor- und 20 EQ-Emulationen von "Dream-Machines", die das durchschnittliche Home-Studio eher nicht besitzt. Mit Liquid-Mix-16 stehen diese als virtuelle Replikationen zur Verfügung.

Sollten zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt die 16 Instanzen nicht mehr ausreichen, so kann das Liquid-Mix-16, genau wie sein großer Bruder, mit einem optionalen DSP-Board erweitert werden.

Combining the same pool of classic EQ and Compressor emulations with a killer control surface, Liquid Mix 16 brings the sound of the priceless and the historically significant, within reach of even the most modest studio owner. Each of the sixteen mono channels (or eight stereo channels) provides Compressor and EQ emulations selectable from a huge pool of high-quality vintage and modern day classics. Forty Compressors and twenty EQs are available straight out of the box, with some additional emulations already online, available for free. As with Liquid Mix, a hybrid seven-band ‘super EQ’ is available in every instance, built out of separate classic EQ sections. Each channel appears as a separate VST/AU/RTAS effect within the sequencer and will work within all major sequencers, including Pro Tools. Liquid Mix 16 launches with Liquid Mix v2.2 software, ensuring compatibility across all major platforms, for both Mac and PC, and including the latest side-chain processing options.

The same optional expansion card will be available for both Liquid Mix and Liquid Mix 16. With Liquid Mix 16, the card allows users to increase the number of available channels at 48kHz from 16 to 24 (sold separately). Installed in the original Liquid Mix, the card enables additional channels at higher frequencies up to 192kHz. This card is simple to install and fits neatly into the underside of both units.

Liquid Mix uses the same patented Dynamic Convolution process as Focusrite’s other Liquid products. Unlike standard convolution techniques, Dynamic Convolution utilizes vast processing power to sample the effect of a classic processor on a series of audio pulses, at many different gain settings and frequencies. All this processing is done using onboard DSP, so the processing has a relatively low effect on your computer’s own CPU, (variable subject to the sequencer used). Liquid Mix’s DSP is housed within an elegant desktop control solution and connects to the computer via Firewire, also providing bus-powering. The physical metering, and most rotary controls and buttons from the original Liquid Mix are provided here. The hardware helps to provide a tactile ergonomic solution, placing the sounds of an array of classic processors at your fingertips. You can choose to control each channel either from the desktop control unit or an alternative controller, or from within the sequencer using the same simple Liquid Mix GUI, which functions exactly like a plug-in.

The Liquid range of products has won in excess of twenty awards to date, becoming a worldwide hit in the audio production world, from project studios to post production and broadcast facilities, not to mention in the Live arena. Focusrite präsentierte erstmals auf der Musikmesse Frankfurt den Liquid Mix 16, den kleinen Bruder des Liquid Mix, der für einen geringen Preis um die EUR 329,- in Europa verkauft werden wird.

Beim Liquid Mix 16 handelt es sich um eine Homerecording Studio freundliche DSP-gestützte Hardware, die hochklassige Plugins für EQ und Comrpessor in der DAW bereitstellt und dabei gleich einen Hardware-Controller zur taktiken Steuerung derselben mitbringt.

Jeder der 16 Monokanäle des Liquid Mix 16 bietet eine Auswahl an unterschiedlichen Emulationen von Kompressor und EQ. Insgesamt verfügbar sind 10 Kompressoren und 20 EQs. Online können weitere Emulationen für den Liquid Mix 16 kostenlos heruntergeladen werden.

Genau wie beim originalen Liquid Mix ist der hybride Super EQ auch im Liquid Mix 16 verfügbar.

nur ne Frage:

sind diese dsp plugins so gut wie die besseren Vsts dies so gibt (ganz unabhängig von preis jetzt) und wie funkt das? ich hab das noch net ganz kappiert- wirds mit dem Teil dann besser? oder schont man nur seine CPU? Weil 329 ist nicht die Welt, und wenn man mit EQs und Compressoren net so sparen muss (wobei 10 Compressoren und 20 Equs setzt ich heute schon ein...) Und geht des mit Ableton?

Ajo und geht da was verloren? ihrgendwelche umwandlungen des streams 16-24 Bit 44Khz 48khz?...

denke der liquid mix ist in erster linie mal dazu gut das er die resourcen schont und zur einfachen bedienung, da ja auch controller

soll extrem gut klingen was ich gelesen habe vom großen bruder, also dürfte doch noch besser als so manche plugins klingen, und die sind um solchen preis sichelich normal nicht zu haben

qualimäßig schätz ich die waves ssl (oder wie die heissen) besser ein...sind halt nativ...aber du hast ja eh einen dual core...(bei externen gschichtln kommt halt immer ne latenz dazu...beim liquid mix....is die sicher größer...als bei pcmcia karten....

is zwar teurer...aber du bekommst auch noch nen 500 euro gutschein für weitere plugins--je nachdem was du haben willst....

muss aber dazu sagne, dass ich miot dem uad-laptop zeug keine erfahrung hab....

aber wenns dir um quali der plugins geht.....kannst mit uad sicher nix falsch machen

eq: der cambridge is ein hammer (nicht zum färben...dafür is er ultraneutral und genau+ sehr viele verschiedene lc´s mit verschiedenen flankensteilheiten)

vergleichbar wäre der sony?? oxford....der kostet ja schon alleine ca. 300-400 euro - was ich so weiss (kann mich aber auch irren)

compr: 1076LN, LA2a, La3a und und und.....welcher dir dann am besten gefällt kann auch vorm kauf getrestet werden (alle plugins sind bereits als demo enthalten..was heissen soll, du kannst sie 14 tage testen)

16 instanzen sind halt auch nicht die welt....(beim liquidmix)

ah verstehe- danke für den Tip, thankz, dann brauch ich auch nimmer drüber nachdenken... als alter realtime produzent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/closedeyes.gif) . werd aber mal die plugins austesten.

ja, die UAD ist sicher der hammer klangtechnisch, aber denke der liquid16 ist vom preis-leistungsverhältnis schon ein knüller!

naja...realtime...geht schon....halbwegs...bei eq, hall usw

problematisch wirds halt bei compressoren....

naja, preisleistung....wennst mal ne uad hast, zahlst a auch nur noch für neue plugins...bzw. sind bei den sachen meistens voucher dabei....zB bei dem 850 euro dings sind 500 gutschein + die plugins...die eh auf allen uads drauf sind (die sind ja auch nicht gerade schlecht)
