Location: Cantera Social Club Area Caravella Baia di Sistiana Triest, Italien ------------------------- KENNY CARPENTER (USA) - The d.j. from New York City Considered one of the founder of dance music, Kenny Carpenter starts his career as a light technician moving in the hottest clubs in the underground scene of New York City, but his lucky moment is in the early 80’s, when they call him to play records at the renowned "Studio 54", the most distinguished club for rich and famous people in the city. Later in the 90’s, one of the most important clubs in London, the “Ministry of Sound”, wich is also a label, hires him for a one year tournée in Scotland, Ireland and England. Kenny plays worldwide, lots of times in Japan, in the main clubs of Tokjo, Osaka, & Sapporo, as well as in the best clubs all around Europe, shaking the dancefloors of the hottest and most fashionable clubs in Athene, Mykonos, Ibiza, Milan and Rome, too. For four years he rocks the soul of all dance music addicted with his weekly show on a New York radio station, the WBLS 107.5 FM. During the years, he mixes and produces dance tracks for several independent labels including his own production “Season of Time” and, of course, the anthem of all clubs ”Set It Off”, with his Jus Bone. DJ PAOLO BARBATO (I) 1978. Turning point for the entire dance music, year of the definitive passage from funky to disco in itself, year which Paolo Barbato starts his long and unstoppable carrier as a sound technician in a local radio station. Earth, Wind and Fire, James Brown and Kool and The Gang are his first musical passions, a permanent imprinting that's re-echoing up in the warm vibrations that his dj-sets are emanating. During the years he fine-tunes his technique and conquests the most ambled results which an artist can aspire, from the winning of 1984's “Dj Competition” to the first contracts with the zone's most important clubs. In 1990 he opens “ Dance All Day ”, reference record shop that represent an icon for the djs of Austria, Slovenia and Croatia too, expanding so his popularity, the residency at the superclub Ambasada Gavioli in Izola (SLO) is in fact right behind the corner. There he passes on parade with the world's most acclaimed deejays. From this moment, Paolo Barbato 's carrier doesn't know limits: famous for his adaptability in immediately recognising what a dancefloor requests him, he starts touring Europe playing in clubs as Zurich's Scarlet, Munchen's Matilda, and famous Pacha, he collaborates with Radio Italia Network and moves his first steps in house-oriented productions, keeping here too the same elasticity that characterises his sets, passing from the tribal “Cheese Cake”, published under the name Elle.Pi and inserted in the “Tribal Works” compilation issued by the French-based label George V (strictly connected with the more famous Buddha Bar), to the “Deep Brothers” project with Nick Tonut, issued world-wide by Soundsgood, the Warner's dance department. His tracks are hosted into famous compilations as “Ministry of Sound - We love Switzerland”, “Global Underground” and “Il Muretto 2001”. His “Stereophonic” recording studio is at now the operative base from where Paolo Barbato tunes his sets, mixes his compilations (one of these is an exclusive cd issued in a 1000 copies limited edition for the famous brand Illy Caffe), remixes other's tracks (Ibiza star Marcelo's “Trabajame” is just one) and mostly puts out even more precious productions. The recording studio gives the name to his website www.stereophonic.it, where is possible to being updated on his movements and incoming productions. |
