hmmm. Flanger D's friend... Innsbruck was empty everywhere last night! There were more people there than anywhere else, also on the dancefloor and the vibe was good as was the music.

Your 'review' is the exact opposite to the feedback from people who were there (including quite a few dnb DJ's) , how long were you there for? Do you really think those dj's are known for playing shit music? I think not... interesting to hear your opinion, everyone has one and your entitled to yours of course...

Hi Flanger D, is that you or your mate?

Well, I started spinning at 1.30 with Coppa MC'ing and the dancefloor was 'full' from that point on. When I say 'full' I'd say about 90% of the people there. Yes, it was empty before, as you (or your mate) say.

No, it was not packed out with hundreds of people, which was a shame, but many events have been suffering in IBK of late due to things like summer finally getting here, the World Cup, free days, people going away and final exams at uni. It was a slow starter for sure, that's the way it goes sometimes.

As for the 'shit music, shit people' comment I'm amazed! This, I find a major insult to the DJ's and crew who made the effort to come out. If your mate had read the flyer it mentions 3 types of breaks music on it and never set out to be a DnB 'festl'. 50% of the people who showed up to support were IBK DnB crew, DJ's and their friends. The other people on the dancefloor made the effort and had a good time. As for the music, that is all about personal taste, but again, the flyer says it all! Badspin played top class 'eclectic' hip hop, Judge Reini played funky Breaks, Coppa and I did our nu skool brekaz thing, and Sub played wicked 'old skool' dnb with his self produced drum funk tracks (f**king top class) alongside Desmosom. People danced to the very end.

You see, I'd like to get a few things straight here after our event getting such 'slagging off' from your mate!
1. He used your account name to do it and not his own, if he even has one.
2. We (Desmosom and myself) were offered the night/venue 14 days ago as Bassintoxication cancelled the Pendulum gig. It took a few days to get flyers printed and we had very little time - a week or so - to advertise.
3. We don't have to do this, we don't have to try, we could just sit around and complain about everything in IBK. But we don't, we get off our ass's (like many other promoters and DJ's) and try and put something back into the scene we LOVE. Just the same as people who come to any gig in IBK and pay the entry fee without complaining - it all goes back into the scene, to the dj's, to the record stores, to the producers etc

The point is, I don't really care about the review your friend gave us, I can't expect everyone to love what we did (I speak for all the DJ's here). It's not that maybe he thought that my and Coppa's set was shit that bothers me. It's the total lack of thought about the effort and hard work, dedication and love for music (ANY music) that all DJ's, MC's, producers and promoters etc. put in to what they do.

I wish I could write perfect German 'cos I don't want to be misunderstood, but I can't!
Maybe you left just before the dance floor started happening. Whatever, I hope that next time you stay a little longer and have a good time :-)

respect fo replaying in such a calm way droidy. als ich das gelesen habe, war i kurz "schockiert" dass menschen so ungut sein können. das is genau die art die mir total aufn sack geht. gscheit reden und zu feig sein die indentität preis zu geben. solche reaktionen vermiesen mir das party machen, man arbeitet und arbeitet mit dem ziel in innsbruck etwas gutes auf die beine zu stellen, bekommt dafür eh nie was gezahlt, weil die preise so angelegt sind dass die leute a gute zeit haben ohne ausbegeutet zu werden, man zahlt teiweise selber aus privaten taschen. und was is? die leute regen sich nur auf. i hätt da einen vorschlag für "freund" von flanger d. wenn dir die parties nit gefallen, heb deinen arsch und stell selber was auf die füße. aber dafür bist du dir warscheinlich zu fein (is jetzt nur a gedanke). i war dort bis 2 UND I HABS TOTAL FEIN GEFUNDEN. ich hatte einen guten abend. und wenn es jemand anders empfunden hat, is a ok, aber bitte nit auf diese art und weise.

i explained it in german, my english isnt that good but i´ll try because i want you to understand too:

you dont have to do what you are doing. you are doing your hobby on stage. you get paid for it (dont tell me you make everything for free, if you dont get money you probably get free drinks or something like that). so you get paid for performing your hobby. very hard work for you beeing a dj for .... years...

i am not an orga, and i dont wanna be one. i just wanna have fun on partys. as i already had on 2-3 bassintoxitations until the doors were closed at 5... on sat. i have been there from 12-2 o clock, waiting for ppl to come and waiting for the ppl who are already there to dance. but nothing happend in 2 hours. i guess at 2 o clock there were 100 ppl in there and none of them was dancing. even the bar wasnt full. so there were very less ppl. and even those very less ppl didnt dance. so i went home...

your just thinking of your side. i earn not very much money and i had to spent money on bus to get there. money on the entry. money on the alcohol and so on. so i spent 40 euros for nothing. and 40 euros are not that kind of money i just through away. so sorry if i had been pissed by the situation.

Hey Mr Abso!

It kinda worried me that you were so upset at the situation, like really mad! Your review, to be honest 'shocked' quite a few people invloved. But hey, you said your piece and that's cool.

Yeah, we were waiting around for it to start too, believe me! But what really confused us about your post was that you left at 2 and said no one was dancing. I started at 1 with Coppa (I said 1.30 before but I'm generally a confused person!) and everyone was on the floor! And they didn't leave until Sub & Desmosom finished! Yeah, 100 people isn't huge but you should have stuck around mate, really! The boys played wicked tunes!

Yeah, I know I don't have to do what I'm doing. I'm no big time promoter or DJ and I don't want to be. Desmosom and I are in this for the music and to give people a good time. That, honestly, is all we care about, bringing fresh tunes to town and putting smiles on faces!

And, I have to tell you this, but we do do it for free. We pay ourselves nothing, we pay the DJ's and MC's etc and there is nothing for us, not even 10 euros each for a f**kin pizza!!! :-) We're not martyrs, we just enjoy doing it, it really is that simple.

I guess you just left at the wrong time after having waited around, I understand that, I've done the same before and found out it kicked off later.

We do think of the party peoples side as well, that's why we only ask 3.50 on the door b4 12. How can we possibly make it any cheaper and pay the DJ's and MC? I'm sure you understand that.

So, I don't wanna go on and on, but next time you come to something we do I promise to let you in for free, fill you with beer and send you home in a taxi :-)

well as i said, maybe i overreacted a bit and i could have wrote it in other words. i dunno the exact time i left, could also have been a bit earlier, but around 2 o clock.

respect to you if you really only make it for the music. its your hobby and i can understand that and respect that.

that 40 euro talking shit wasnt about the entry. i really liked the price and damn i was there 0:05 and payed 5 euro but that wasnt it, i gave a shit about the 1,50. it was the whole situation, paying 40 euros for nothing, you understand?

i will come back to that promise (beer, taxi, entry), promised :D

fein, dass sich die wogen da ein bisschen glätten!
nur kurz zur erklärung unserer reaktion auf das ganze:
kritik ist was anderes in unseren augen als einfach nur zu sagen: scheiße und nicht zu begründen. auf den schlips getreten fühlt sich keiner dadurch, dass jemand sagt "mir hats nicht gefallen, weil..." oder jemand denkt es war a schas, weils nicht das seine war.
das problem bei so oberflächlichen aussagen wie der deinen ist, dass in unseren veranstaltungen viel herz und arbeit steckt. wenn dann jemand auf so eine primitive weise unsere arbeit durch die scheiße zieht, kommen reaktionen wie unsere heraus... mag sein, dass man drüber stehen kann, kann aber auch sein, dass wenn man kritik anzubringen hat, die auch entsprechend formulieren könnte-- dann hätten wir als veranstalter auch die chance beim nächsten mal darauf zu reagieren und dinge, die nicht so gut gelaufen sind, besser zu machen... und zum glück gibt es hier in innsbruck einige crews, die aus idealismus heraus parties organisieren, und selbst - trotz oft monatelanger vorbereitungsarbeiten und einer 24h-schicht am partytag - keinen cent für ihre arbeit kriegen, weil einfach nix da ist - und alles was da ist, in die party investiert wurde, um den gästen einen besonderen abend zu ermöglichen...

ja wie ich bereits zum 3. mal schreibe hats mich einfach ankotzt und ich häts mit sicherheit anders ausdrücken können, wollte es aber in dem moment nicht.

kontruktive kritik könnte man schon rauslesen, wenn man WILL. vielleicht wärs besser gwesen bisschen mehr dnb lineup zu machen denn da waren die festln eigentlich immer zum brechen hin voll. oder man hätte einfach schnell einen etwas anderen soundrichtung auflegen können und die leute so zum tanzen motivieren, anstatt beharrlich beim gleichen monotomen sound zu bleiben wo eh keiner tanzt sondern jeder nur an bar ein bisschen mitwippt.

weiters find ich die location blue chip nicht so toll. find den hafen nicht nur wegn den getränkepreisen, parkmöglichkeiten, tanzmöglichkeiten (3 mal so grosser dancefloor) und vielen anderen dingen deutlich besser.

positive kritik: das meist vorhandene catering und die eintrittspreise

ich wollt dich ja nicht angreifen... und du musst dich auch schon lang nimma rechtfertigen.

zum sound auf der breakdown möcht ich sagen: das konzept ist da ein bissl anders als auf den bassintoxication festln oder auf einer fc veranstaltung
hier gehts nit nur um dnb... dann haben wir auch die vorstellung, dass der sound mit fortschreitender stunde sich steigern sollte, dass nicht um 12 schon der gleiche sound gespielt wird wie um 5 uhr früh... sonst is es wieder zu monoton...

zur location-situation: in innsbruck haben wir leider das problem, dass es ganz grundsätzlich wenig auswahl gibt, wo man was machen kann (oder darf!!) weil einige locations keine elektronischen events haben wollen, oder nur die eigenen, die sie als besser ansehen...
bar preise usw: nicht überall kann man die bar als veranstalter selbst betreiben. auch im hafen nicht mehr leider... das wird auswirkungen haben auf die preise und die veranstaltungen, die man sich noch leisten kann zu organisieren ohne die bareinnahmen... leider ist vieles in unserer kleinen stadt nicht so einfach (IMG:http://www.technoboard.at/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

also: die scheiß lage in der wir uns befinden bezüglich verschiedener locations und deren unterschiedlicher deals liegt nicht an uns veranstaltern... leider, sonst könnten wir was dran ändern. und ich persönlich finde das blue chip eine feine sache, clubmäßiger und ein bisschen anders als ewig das gleiche (IMG:http://www.technoboard.at/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
