Info zu Tibor Holoda:

Tibor Holoda is involved in electronic music scene more than 10 years. He is one of the most significant and respactable persons of Slovak electronic music culture. DJ and supporter of modern music. He is known for complex DJ sets that are technicly precise and always with an attention to the crowd, no matter what style he‘s currently playing. Founder of legendary U.Club in Bratislava where he, together with his long time DJ-partner DJ Dalo, remarkably influenced the evolutionary process of the young slovak club culture. He was as well one of the leading people that gave birth to the first slovak alternative radio station Radio Ragtime.
It was - for the first years of its existence - one of the main voices of alternative scene in Slovakia and had a big impact on domestic electronic music scene. Two U.Club residents, DJs Tibor & Dalo, had their weekly program called Crystal House there, named after successful record „Crystal Clear“ by UK project Grid. It was one of the first music programs in Slovakia focused on underground dance music.
Their weekly Friday residency in U.Club called Kick Against The Machine lasted for more than 5 years. During that period it has reached cult status. Among regular visitors you could found many „celebrities“ of todays Slovak scene then. For the first time ever in Slovakia, Kick against the Machine night has hosted big international names of global electronic music scene such as Neil Landstrumm (1995) or Jeff Mills (1996) among others.
In the year 1998, Tibor and Dalo have joined forces with their long time friend - DJ Toky - due to the styles of their DJ sets that came closer and closer to each other. Together with Dalo’s brother Brano they have found a booking agency called Subtech, which from that moment started to take care about the whole musical programme of U.Club. During the years 1998 untill 2003, U.Club has hosted the „creme de la creme“ of international DJing and soon it has built itself strong reputation on global scale. After a 10 successful years of U.Club, Subtech has decided to end up their activities in the legendary bunker under the castle and has closed U.Club forever. One of the reasons was to open up new space to Subtech members for doing different projects and taking new challenges.
One of the new projects of Tibor, he wanted to take care most, is Wilsonic festival. He started to organize it with his friend - writer and publicist Michal Hvorecky - in year 2000. The main idea behind the festival was firstly to establish an event which will present variety of growing electronic music scene. And secondly to create a platform for confrontation between the artists from Slovakia (and neighbour countries) and internationaly well known musicians. Simply, to give space for interaction between „East“ and „West“ scenes and to help domestic producers to develop their skills and perhaps to start a new colaborating projects.
Tibor Holoda is the main man behind the festival, taking care off all the curating work that had bring artists like Akufen, Funkstoerung, Ricardo Villalobos, Thomas Brinkmann, Luciano, Louie Austen, Jake Mandell, Safety Scissors, Trueby Trio, B.Fleischmann, Lali Puna, Dona Reginna, Keith Teniswood, Herrmann & Kleine, Crane AK, Max Tundra or Gus Gus among others on to the festival stage.
Currently he is doing a weekly radio show in Radio_FM (part of Slovak National Radio) together with his long time friend and an ex-Radio Ragtime colleague Daniel Balaz. The programme is entirely presenting interesting music within the electronic music genre.
Besides above mentioned, his primar activity is deejaying. Since 2001, he is using also Final Scratch system in his DJ-sets. As one of the few DJs in the world he became a member of ProFS community that has helped the revolutionary sytem to find its way into DJ public.
