Während sich Lexicons Einsteiger-Modelle Alpha, Lambda und Omega primär für das mobile und Desktop-Recording eignen, bedient der Hersteller aus dem US-Bundesstaat Utah mit dem neue I•ONIX endlich wieder die Bedürfnisse des professionellen Anwenders.

Das FireWire-Interface besitzt acht dbx-Mikrofonvorverstärker mit Phantomspeisung, zwei Einstrumenten-Eingänge sowie acht analoge Line-Ausgänge. Dazu kommen Stereo-Main-Out, eine koaxiale S/PDIF-Schnittstelle sowie das obligatorische MIDI-Duo. Die Wandler unterstützen 24 Bit und 96 kHz auf allen Kanälen.

Highlight des I•ONIX aber dürfte der integrierte Softwaremixer mit Dynamiksektion des Recording-Spezialisten „dbx" sein, der nicht nur die analogen Mic-Preamps sondern zusätzlich auch Algorithmen für Kompressoren, Gate, EQ und Limiter für jeden Kanal beigesteuert hat. Ergänzt wird die Ausstattung durch das Pantheon II-Reverb als VST- und AU-Plug-in sowie Steinbergs Cubase LE und Toontrack EZdrummer Lite. Das Interface wird voraussichtlich Anfang 2009 auch in Deutschland erhältlich sein. (AW)

And the I•ONIX FW810S does the processing, so you can mix and fine tune your recordings in real time with zero latency. You can even save and load snapshots of mixer settings. Save and load up to five monitor mixes – one for the main control mix, and up to four for individual band members. Or assign the I•ONIX FW810S to start up with a snapshot.
