Specials/Infos	Once again this summer, for 4 days only, between the 26th and 29th of August, the majestic, postindustrial remains of the former KWK Katowice Coal Mine, which dominates over Katowice, the capitol of Silesian Region, will become a true mekka for all the lovers of unpretentious music and dance rythms. The 5th edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival has transformed itself from an event put together by a small group of true passion driven freaks into one of the biggest events on the live music summer map of Poland. Thousands of votes given to our Festival by our internet fans clearly shows how important and needed for a festival which gathers under its wings the biggest names in the world of contemporary electronic music and the most talented debuts at the verge of an international fame and carrier, where both categories of artists are being treated equally. During these five years we had a chance to showcase true legends of independent music: Japanese turntable maestro DJ Krush, Brazilian king of the broken beats Amon Tobin, the most charismatic raper in British hip hop world Roots Manuva, or the man that single-handedly took soul to the XXI century, the amazing Jamie Lidell. Our Festival really is a unique opportunity to witness what the future of hip hop looks like with the likes of Scroobius Pip and Speech Debelle, who is behind some of the most devastating debut record of the last few years such as Flying Lotus’es “Los Angeles” and “Cosmogramma” LP’s or Bonobo’s “Black Sands”. We were also lucky enough to discover that polish artists can share the stage with the biggest international stars of what’s most interesting in music today. Year 2010 bring yet another, fifth, edition of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival filled with real surprises! First of these is without a doubt performance by the Scandinavian jazz virtuosos Jagga Jazzists. The band which over the last ten years and with the help of their four studio albums and numerous live tours has reached the shortlist of the best jazz bands in the world. Those of you looking for something with a bigger dose of dance energy will be delighted to know that we have prepared a real dynamite for you! The highly acclaimed by critics and loved and cherished by its fans Moderat is coming to Tauron Nowa Muzyka. Their last year’s hit packed debut album was a big shock to almost everyone who follows contemporary music, and tracks such as Rusty Nails have become instant dance floor classics. 2010 is also the year when we have decided to take our Festival to another level. Tauron is going to expand from its postindustrial surrounding and invade Katowice! We will try to connect our event with the cultural life of the city. To do so, we have two special events taking place. First one is the Opening Night performance located in the Concert Hall of Karol Szymanowski’s Academy of Music in Katowice. Lou Rhodes, lead singer of Lamb, the legendary trip-hop group will perform live in Poland for the first time. In her solo carrier Lou Rodes has stepped away from the synthetic, dance themes so closely associated with Lamb, to create more simplistic, intimate songs in which here voice is only being accompanied by an acoustic guitar. Her melodic songs, delicate and filled with very intimate lyrics differ from all the other performers but we certainly hope that this kind of music will gain some new fans after Lou Rhodes’s performance. As well as the Opening Night, the Final Night is also a huge venture located outside the Festival’s main grounds in Galeria Szyb Wilson (a closed down KWK Wieczorem Coal Mine shaft. This special night of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival 2010 shall be graced by two remarkable musical forces: Prefuse 73 and one of the most famous polish chamber music orchestras, Orkiestra Aukso from Tychy, Poland. Joined forces of Orkiestra Aukso and Prefuse 73 should be an intriguing connection between the European tradition of chamber music and the most fascinating ideas deriving from contemporary electronic music. That night will be filled with musical precision needed to conduct a whole orchestra and spontaneous improvisation created by a large set up of modern musical equipment.We certainly hope that this remarkable live show will be an unforgettable experience for all of our guests and will once more show that the fusion of two, entirely different approaches to music can be possible, especially in its unique location where this dialog symbolizes tradition redefined by modern culture. In between these truly special events our guests will get a chance to witness raw, avant-guarde techno served by Pantha du Prince, dark trip-hop songs by Kind Midas Sound, spontaneous space disco by Floating Points, radical instrumental hip-hop delivered by Nosaj Thing (connected with an amazing visual show) and dance to DJ sets performed to you by the biggest names in the game: KidKanevil, well capable of creating a really sparkling mixture of soul, funky and hip-hop, or Mary Anne Hobbs, the legendary BBC Radio 1 presenter who has been creating sets which many DJ’s around the world take as guidelines for their work. Those of you, who took part in the previous editions of Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival know, that its not just about fantastic music in the spectacular surroundings of KWK Katowice Coal Mine, its also great side shows and accompanying events. Last year brought you photography exhibitions and film screenings and 2010 is no different. Experience field trips to some of the forgotten postindustrial locations with the Alternatiff Turstik, a feature for some spectators almost as popular as the Festival itself. Das Partyformat „Rewired“ hat sich bereits als Trendsetter in Sachen elektronischer Musik etabliert und bringt sowohl innovative Acts zum ersten Mal als auch beliebte Künstler von früher nach Wien. Mit dem Sass Music Club als Treff für Szene-Kenner werden gute Voraussetzungen für eine gelungene Symbiose aus einzigartigem Sound, speziellem Publikum und besonderem Ambiente geschaffen. Zu Gast ist im August jener Mann, der schon bei seinem letzten Wien-Besuch neben DJ-Legende Carl Cox für Furore gesorgt hat. Leipziger Original Christian Fischer, seit über zehn Jahren als DJ und Produzent tätig, ist berühmt für seinen hybrid-flexiblen, heftig-fragilen Technostyle, der zwischen hymnischen House-Sounds und zukunftsweisendem Electro hin- und herschwingt und gleichzeitig die wildesten Frequenzen mit einbezieht. Seine Flexibilität und sein Spektrum hat er sich in jahrelanger Residency-Tätigkeit als DJ erspielt, unter anderem in der berüchtigten „Distillery“ in Leipzig. Er betreibt erfolgreich das Label Definition Records, das, stetig wachsend und sich neu erfindend, über die Jahre zu einem wesentlichen Bestandteil der Szene geworden ist, und fürchtet sich auch selbst nicht davor, sich stilistisch weiterzuentwickeln und technische Neuerungen zu befürworten. Als einer der ersten DJs fing er an, neue Technologien wie Final Scratch in seine Sets zu integrieren, die stets melodie-getrieben, erhebend und progressiv nach vorne pushen. Fischer, der seine Karriere bei dem befreundeten Statik-Entertainment-Label begonnen und seitdem Platten auf so verschiedenen Labels wie Craft Music, Patterns, Abyss und Whirlpoolsex Music veröffentlicht hat, ist ein wahres musikalisches Multitalent. Eine Eigenschaft, die er immer wieder aufs Neue unter Beweis stellt, wie man auch seiner seitenlangen Diskographie entnehmen kann. Dasselbe gilt für ihn hinter den Decks, die verrücktesten Tricks praktizierend, entreißt er sich jeglicher Vorstellung, wie ein DJ-Set zu sein hat – und das Publikum dankt es ihm. Und sein aktuelles Projekt ist nicht minder spektakulär. CHANGE DISKO ist nicht nur der Name von Christian Fischer`s neuem Album - er ist zugleich eine Aufforderung! Specials/Infos	LAUT.DE-KRITIK "YES IT`S MORE" Techhouse in exzentrisch ausgelebter Feierlaune. Review von Daniel Straub Trotz mehr als einem Dutzend veröffentlichter Maxis liegt erst mit "Yes Is More" das Albumdebüt des Franzosen Julien Brambilla alias Danton Eeprom vor. Mit den zwölf Tracks wandelt er auf Pfaden, die vor einiger Zeit auch schon die beiden Kanadier Jacob Fairley und Sheldon Thompson alias Sid LeRock beschritten. Geschmeidiger Techhouse trifft dabei auf poppige Songstrukturen und eine exzentrisch ausgelebte Feierlaune. Dieses Konzept sorgt für einige gute Momente, erfährt im Laufe des Albums aber seine Auflösung. Zu den besten Tracks auf "Yes Is More" zählen "Thanks For Nothing" und "Lost In Music". Während der Opener eine gesunde Portion New Wave-Arroganz atmet und sowohl seinem unterkühlten Electro-Groove als auch der dezent angefunkten Bassline vertraut, schmeichelt "Lost In Music" in bester Italo-Disco-Manier dem Ohr. Erika Forster von Au Revoir Simone leiht dem Stück ihre liebliche Stimme, die im Duettpartner Danton Eeprom einen überaus passenden Gegenpart findet. Das ist vielleicht die größte Überraschung des Albums. Auch auf den nachfolgenden Tracks greift Eeprom immer wieder zum Mikrofon. Den überzeugenden Auftritt, den er zuvor hinlegte, reproduziert er jedoch nicht mehr. Zu gleichförmig und ohne songwriterische Akzente plätschern die übrigen Vocal-Tracks lustlos in Richtung gesichtsloses Mittelmaß. In solchen Momenten wirkt Eeproms Albumkonzept ein wenig überfordert. "Tight" empfiehlt sich mit seiner einprägsamen Hookline und dem monoton-hypnotischen Groove in jedem Fall für die Tanzfläche. Der Track markiert auch einen vorübergehenden Schwenk innerhalb des Albums weg von den songorientierten Stücken hin zu minimalem Techhouse, der sein Heil ausschließlich im Club sucht. Das Highlight fürs DJ-Case ist jedoch "Confessions Of An English Opium Eater". Hier zeigt sich Danton Eeprom nicht nur modisch mit Jake Fairley auf einer Linie (die Vorliebe für Zylinder ist beiden zu Eigen), er schlägt auch musikalisch in dieselbe Kerbe. Im letzten Drittel des Albums nimmt der Franzose wieder etwas Fahrt raus und lässt "Yes Is More" mit den melancholischen Balladen "Vivid Love" und "What's A Balloon But A Bag Of Air" ausklingen. Unterm Strich sind die zwölf Tracks noch nicht der große Wurf. Gerade deshalb sollte man sich den Namen Danton Eeprom für künftige Releases vormerken. Denn Potenzial ist hier zweifellos vorhanden

Er wurde Ende der 80iger Jahre mit seinem ersten Sampler berühmt. Durch seine einzigartigen Mixes und Sounds gelang es ihm als erster DJ weltweit eine Radio Show zu bekommen. Das war die Geburtsstunde des Deejay Radio. Immer noch ist er "der" DJ im italienischem Radio und das beim meistgehörten "Radio Deejay". In der "goldenen Italo Dance Zeit" war Fargetta eine der Leitfiguren und produzierte unter anderem beim Nr. 1 Hit der UK Verkaufscharts "Tamperer feat. Maya - Feel it, mit.) Ein Zitat eines DJ Kollegen: "Mario ist zwar nicht mehr das Jüngste was Italien zu bieten hat, aber das BESTE." Als Remixer hat er schon Hits aller italienischen Größen wie Lucio Dalla, Jovanotti, Gianna Nannini aber auch internationale Stars wie Blur spektakulär in ein neues Gewand gehüllt. LineUP	Phil Slide (Timeless-Beatz, MUC) Phil ist nicht nur Mitgründer der Booking- und Veranstaltungsagentur, sondern dazu noch leidenschaftlicher Dj seit nun schon 10 Jahren. So kann man den früheren Einfluss des Detroitstyles heraushören, doch findet man auch Deep House bis hin zu knackigem Tech-House in seinen Dj-Set´s wieder. Es kommt eben nicht nur auf die Geschwindigkeit drauf an!! Als Resident´s der Eventreihe Timeless-Beatz Night haben sie schon neben Größen wie The Hacker (Paris), Heartthrob (M_NUS/NYC) oder den legendären Detroit Grand PuBahs (PokerFlat Rec.) mit Erfolg ihr Können unter Beweis stellen können. Als aus politischen Gründen ihre Homebase Club Kerosin in Augsburg den Pächter wechselte, gingen sie nach einigen Monaten in die Musikkantine Augsburg, wo sie bis heute noch Zeitlose Nächte feiern und aus dem Augsburger Nachtleben nicht mehr weg zu denken sind. Jeden zweiten Monat heißt es für Phil "Ein Herz für... Timeless-Beatz" im angesagtesten Club München´s dem Harry Klein . Doch auch im Chiemgauer Raum (ihrem Geburtsort) zelebrieren die Jung´s von Timeless-Beatz ihre Tanznächte; in der Kultlocation Café Lounge Festung in Traunstein endete letztes Jahr ihre 5 Jahre Timeless-Beatz Bavarian Tour. Seit 2007 hat er seine eigene Radiosendung auf Germany´s best-known dance-channel "Sunshine live", die beliebte Radio Show heißt "Sixty Radio" powered by Miss Sixty, Energy und Killah. Auch auf IBIZA ist Steffen kein unbeschriebenes Blatt. Nevertheless i'm more into making music by myself instead of mixing 2 records together. i rarely do remixes since mostly i think the original is anyway better. but for guys like "Moby" i had to do it since my mother loves him....and i love mama. I executive-produced the project "Sally Saphiro" which was nominated "Best Album Of The Year" next to guys like Justice at the NYC "Plug Awards" where she did one of her rare live appaerances sharing stage with NICK CAVE.that makes dad proud because he likes nick cave. I also did music with lovely people like Princess Superstar, Alexander Robotnick and Legowelt to name a few... My girlfriend always tells me that i'm bad in bed and that i'm getting fad. furthermore my "MS Word" programm just tells me with those underlined red words that my english sucks big time but trust me.... my german in interviews is even worse. Honestly,i never thought about all those things mentioned above.“ Yours Truly Wolfram MIKEBURNS regards himself as a DJ, Producer & Freak all in one. He has been in love with music for as long as he’s had ears, an essential prerequisite which allowed the development of his deep enthusiasm for sounds of a more electronic nature and subsequently the 2 musical instruments that would capture him most: the computer sequencer and the turntable. This basis has engrossed him in the never-ending but essential search, namely for the perfect groove, be it in his own productions or on that beloved black plastic that spins in circles. Having started playing out downbeat, house and drum & bass, he soon started seeking out the roots and sources of all the samples involved. This journey back to the origins of modern dance music brought upon him a deep love for all things cosmic, funk and disco. Now his DJ sets take the dancers on an adventurous odyssey through the realms of leftfield club sounds, including long forgotten gems, the newest stuff out and about and everything in between. Hosting both the monthly blankTON web-radio show and the now defunkt but legendary Bongo Club in Vienna, has refined his skills of creating a unique listening experience and causing euphoric dancing frenzies alike. His growing collection of obscure disco records caused him to experiment with the concept of the “disco edit”, rather than simply sampling bits and pieces of a tune. Scanning several records from his collection he discovered tracks that had a huge potential but were either lacking something or that took a wrong direction in his eyes. Thus he went about chopping and rearranging various tracks to strengthen their dance floor effect. His first 5 track EP of edits on his own “Phönix Project” imprint was widely acclaimed and is still played by several of the world’s disco heads. This release was soon followed by 2 recent 12”s on the Belgian “Disco Devil” label, which also created quite a stir among the scene. The 2nd installment of his own Phönix Project series has just now seen the light of day and will be followed by 1 or 2 more edit 12"s, some original material and a couple remixes that are all scheduled for release in 2010. And as always, new tracks are in the making that will see the light of day, preferably sooner than later...
